The new edition, released by the prestigious Oxford University Press, brings the Polish discussion to a global audience – from academia to think tanks and the media. The project demonstrates that political conflict can be transformed into a constructive conversation about the rules of the state: how to build institutions that accommodate diverse views while strengthening responsibility and cooperation.
About the book and the project
The publication is an initiative of the Social Contract Incubator (IUS) and brings together 28 experts representing a broad spectrum of opinions – from the left to the conservative right. The authors describe their “dream provinces” and proposed systemic solutions, and then, in cooperation with well-known writers, turn these visions into fictionalized narratives showing how they might work in practice.
EFF President Marek Tatała, together with Marcin Zieliński and Leszek Stypułkowski, co-authored a chapter about the “liberal dream province,” emphasizing, among other things, a simpler and more transparent tax system, the reduction of inefficient levies, and the professionalization of public asset management.
#Let’sAgree – an international conversation on depolarization
Alongside the release of the English edition, the international phase of #Let’sAgree is being launched – a series of 40–50 events abroad with the participation of the book’s authors and the IUS team. The aim is to show that polarization is not solely a Polish issue, and that practical ideas for a new social contract can inspire debate beyond Poland – and, strengthened by that exchange, return home.
Current information about upcoming events will be published on the project’s website and social media channels. Follow the updates at letsagreeonpoland.org.
